The Australian National University (ANU) has ranked 30th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, confirming the University’s place among the best in the world.

Among Australian universities ANU is ranked fourth.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Lachlan Blackhall said he was pleased to see the University jump four places in the rankings, keeping ANU firmly in the top two per cent of universities in the world.

“ANU has a proud tradition of quality and distinctive research, education activities, and impact, and our ranking reflects this,” Professor Blackhall said

“We are committed to ensuring that ANU sets new standards in higher education through fostering an environment of academic quality and distinction, innovative research and impactful change.”

The 2025 QS World University Rankings measures universities’ performance across a number of indicators, including research and discovery, employability and graduate outcomes, learning experience, global engagement and sustainability.
