A co-op work permit is a type of work permit that allows you to complete the mandatory or optional work experience (work placement/internship/practicum/field placement) that your study program requires.
In Canada, some programs require mandatory or optional work experience as part of their academic curriculum. If co-op work is integrated into the study programs, you must complete the part in order to meet all of the graduation criteria. You need a co-op work permit to fulfill this part.
A co-op work permit is an open work permit. It allows you to work different jobs that may be required by your program at different companies.
