MADA students bring together stories of refugees for new exhibition

The Perfect Migrant features artwork and stories from refugees, responding to their own experiences of forced migration. This includes internees who immigrated to Australia from Germany and Austria during World War II, as well as contemporary refugees.

Master of Design students Taniya Bose, Suhas Anjan, Xinghe Gao and Tangyi Sun worked together on the exhibition as part of their final semester studio project.

Under the supervision of Master of Design program director Jeff Janet, the students collaborated with Sir Louis Matheson library staff Dr Anne Holloway and Eliza Liddy on the exhibition’s digital elements. The students conceptualised, designed and produced motion graphics, illustrations and interactive experiences that featured in the exhibition.

The Master of Design offers specialisations in interaction design and multimedia design and is ideal for people with an undergraduate degree in any discipline who are keen to enter the expanding fields of professional design engagement, or for design practitioners aiming to upgrade their expertise.
